Auckland

 Back to the modern world, we are clean and we have chocolate!

The flight from fiji only took 4 hours! New Zealanders are so lucky that they live so close to that amazing place! In Auckland we are staying in a lovely apartment, with a view over looking the sky tower and the bridge, it is beautiful!

On our first day here the lady we are staying with, Janet, took us on our own private tour around Auckland, we went to all the hot spots and up a volcano! It was quite a cloudy day though so unfortunately we couldn't see the views from the volcano.

Nick celebrated his 23rd  birthday in Auckland, and on the day we got some sun! It was a lovely day we went down to the water front to see the Volvo boats and had some amazing Stone baked Pizzas (Probably the best pizza I have ever had!).

Down at the water font in Auckland there is a plethora of entertainment from Spanish dancing to live acoustic bands, there really is something for everyone. And there is no shortage of food down there, from fine dining to burger vans! We watched the dancing for quite a while, seated on massive bean bag chairs! 

In the evening of Nicks birthday we treated ourselves to a 3 course dinner at the top of the Sky Tower, which is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere! We ate in the revolving restaurant and saw the sun setting whilst having dinner. The view of Auckland CBD and surrounding areas was spectacular! 

The food was also amazing, the best lamb I have ever eaten and a Jaffa cake inspired cheesecake for dessert.. it's what dreams are made of!  

We have spent most our time walking around Auckland and it is a beautiful city to explore,  lots of pretty clothes shops and cute little quirky shops. We also went to the Auckland Museum... it was okay, just a lot of dead animals really! 

We brought a car whilst in Auckland! We love her, she is called Jo a Nissan March with only a 1ltr engine. She is ideal for our road trips and thanks to Nicks clever brain we got her for quite a bargain!

We are leaving this beautiful apartment today and heading up North to see 90 mile beach and some more volcanoes. Its so exciting!
