We spent four nights on Koh Samui, the largest Island on the East Gulf of Thailand. We stayed in a lovely little resort called Hutcha and had our own little private bungalow! The bathroom wasn't exactly inside which meant we had quite a few mozzy's join us whilst we were showering!
We rented a moped and explored the whole Island, I was a bit worried as Nick confessed he had never driven one before and the roads in Koh Samui are quite busy! We stopped off at the big buddha for a few snaps and then carried on touring. We went by Chaweng beach where I got a Mani-Pedi! But after that the weather took a turn for the worst so we drove quite quickly around the rest.
Our resort was located on Mae Nam beach so in the evenings we usually wandered along the shore and went to a few different restaurants. Unfortunately we were there in the rainy season so we couldn't actually sit on the beach but we had a pretty good view!
Our resort also came with a dog! She followed me everywhere, such a cutie!
Every Thursday night in Mae Nam there is a night market that has the best little nick nacks and jewellery! I brought quite a few souvenirs! Cocktails were very cheap as well and there was a live band playing some classics!
We had a few sightings of Creepy Crawlys on this island!
The weather cheered up a little towards the end of our stay so we to rented Mopeds again to see more of the Island. Nick had mastered the maneuvers by now and apart from being between an oncoming steam roller and heavy good vehicle I felt pretty safe! We had a lovely lunch in a restaurant completely overlooking the sea, it was a fantastic view!
We stopped off and went on a few walks, it had started to rain again at this point but we were in the rainforest so we didn't mind too much! Plus whilst waiting for the rain to pass we played with the cutest little puppy!
Our last stop was at the waterfalls, the bridges where a bit wobbly, but although it was raining it was 30+ degrees and incredibly humid so we couldn't wait to jump in to the cool water.
Off to Koh Phangan next where hopefully we will have better weather! It doesn't really matter though as there are so many activities to do on the Islands a day would be wasted if we just sunbathed!
