What an amazing city! Singapore really is incredible and very cheap compared to Australia! Travelling around was unbelievably cheap, a train from our hostel to the airport was only $1.90SPD, Taxi were also a bargain!
On day one we headed to Little India for a look around the markets and in to some super cool temples. We were amazed by the detail in the temples and they were all very busy! We had to take our shoes off and wash our feet before we entered and it smelt wonderful in there of burning incense stick and flowers.
We caught a taxi from the Little India to the Singapore Zoo which really is INCREDIBLE! I have never been anywhere like it, the monkeys aren't in cages they are swinging above your head, you could touch them if you wanted! You'd probably get bitten though.
We saw the white tiger feeding which was awesome they are such majestic creatures we could have watched them for hours!
And the polar bear feeding where they drop in a live fish! Poor thing!
We also saw an elephant show, which was mind blowing! These elephants where trained better than dogs! They knew exactly what to do and when to do it, it was fascinating to watch! They would strike a pose, pick up tree trunks and squirt water at the audience!
We probably spent most the day watching the monkeys, they are so human! and we could get super close.
We walked through a tent where none of the animals where in cages, we were face to face with lemurs, crazy birds, fruit bats and the cutest of them all MOUSEDEERS!
We stayed at the zoo for the night safari which is well worth doing. We walked around the cat fishing trail where you see the big cats trying to catch their super! We didn't see any succeed though!
You are then taken on a tram and taken through the park to see all the animals that come alive at night! It was raining though so we were a bit unlucky but we did see all the best ones such as Lions, Tigers, Slow Loris and Hyenas.
There was a creatures of the nights show as well which we went to. Again the animals participating where trained incredibly well! especially the otters, 3 otters came on to the stage to demonstrate how easy recycling is and they put the correct item in the correct bins! It was incredible!
On day two we explored the actually city of Singapore and went for lunch in Clarkes Quay. This is the day we tackled the MRT which is very easy and cheap to use but can be quite overwhelming at first.
After lunch we walked around the city and took about 500 photos of the amazing Architecture and the quirky sculptures dotted around the place.
We walked down to Fullerton bay where you get amazing views of the Singapore flyer and the MBS building.
We walked down to the Gardens by the bay which were beautiful, but we couldn't stay long though as a famous Singapore storm was moving in! Which we watched from the shopping mall and fork lightening was huge!
In the evening we went for a ride on the Singapore Flyer which was awesome! We timed it just right and got on the Flyer at dusk, we saw the city change as the sky got darker and the lights got brighter.
For dinner we found a Street food congress which had street food from 37 different countries! You had to pay $20SPD to get in but that gave you $20SPD worth of fake money which you used to buy your food.
We definitely wish we had longer than two days in Singapore, it is a fantastic place and not as expensive as everyone had told us. On the morning before our flight to Bangkok we went to the Raffles City Mall... where there is a TOPSHOP! It was awesome!
We are in Bangkok now, just booked our 13 hour bus ride to get down to the Islands!
